I am a dedicated caregiver who loves bringing comfort, flexibility, and a sense of fun directly into respite care. My deep-rooted passion is to support and uplift children in this world to become the best versions of who they are. I have experience working with diverse family backgrounds, which allows me to meet the children where they are. I have cared for and mentored children with unique behavioral and cognitive challenges. My experience working in environments like Chileda—a residential school for youth with developmental disabilities like autism and ADHD-and working as a pediatric nurse has given me the experiences needed to help all children. My nursing career began in the pediatric unit at Mayo Clinic in La Crosse WI which was known as Franciscan Skemp at the time, and transitioned to Mayo during the years I worked there. My 33-year caregiving journey spans from babysitting at age 10 to group homes after high school graduation to nursing school at Western Tech. I then gained diverse experience across Mayo Clinic's pediatric, medical, surgical, and maternity units, to Chileda, and most recently private home health. Through it all, I have learned that true care means meeting every person exactly where they are. I blend this extensive expertise with a compassionate, calm and patient approach to ensure families feel completely at ease. Personally, I am a spiritual individual who treasures nature, loves animals, and enjoys living life to the absolute fullest. I thrive on variety and creativity, possessing a deep love for music, art, and outdoor adventures—especially anything involving water fun and traveling. As a dependable and flexible partner for your family, I look forward to bringing you ease and peace of mind knowing that I truly care for children. I believe all children deserve to be and feel loved.
