About

ABOUT ANDREW Andrew is a dependable and community-minded caregiver who brings patience, consistency, and positive energy into respite care. Originally from the Twin Cities and now based in Menomonie, he values building real connections with the children and families he supports. Andrew believes every child deserves to feel safe, respected, and encouraged—and he works hard to create an environment where kids can be themselves while having fun and feeling supported. EXPERIENCE & PURPOSE Andrew’s purpose in respite care is rooted in family and lived experience. When he was five years old, his mother became a respite provider and foster parent. Growing up around children with many different backgrounds and needs shaped Andrew’s understanding of how important stable, compassionate support can be. Watching his mom navigate new situations with care and strength inspired him to follow a similar path—showing up for families, offering relief to caregivers, and helping kids feel seen and valued. PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND Andrew works at UW–Eau Claire and also takes on cleaning jobs on the side. Through his work, he’s built a strong reputation for reliability, attention to detail, and follow-through—qualities he brings into respite care through consistent support, clear communication, and a steady presence for families. PERSONAL APPROACH Andrew focuses on meeting each child where they are. He aims to build trust first, then provide structure, encouragement, and calm support based on the child’s personality and needs. Families can expect Andrew to be respectful, dependable, and engaged—someone who takes the responsibility seriously while still keeping things light, active, and enjoyable for kids. PERSONAL LIFE & INTERESTS Outside of work, Andrew enjoys traveling, sports, video games, and movies. He loves activities that keep kids engaged and connected, and he’s always open to finding fun, age-appropriate ways to spend time—whether that’s games, outdoor activities, or relaxed downtime.
