After-School Program

Eau Claire Cruisers Mentoring  is a one-on-one, client centered, strength focused, and goal oriented youth development program of Eau Claire Cruisers mentoring was started in 2023. Our Youth Mentors balance their time together in the community giving their youth a variety of ways to work on their goals. 

 

Our mentors inspire and challenge all to push the boundaries of learning and growth in a safe and engaging setting.

  • Eau Claire Cruisers Mentors provides a positive youth development experience to area youth who can benefit from a caring, consistent, and supportive role model. Our Youth Mentors provide each participant with an individualized experience built around connection, guidance, support, and goal-oriented skill building. 

  • Participants in Eau Claire Cruisers Mentors Program will focus on one-on-one skill development that utilizes a community-based setting to build skills such as self-confidence, social skills, peer relationships skills, community involvement and safety, independent living skills, and more. 

  • All participants are matched with a provider by our administrative team, who determine the best fit based on each participant’s mental health needs, goals, and various other components of the service to be provided.

  • Services provided through the program typically last up to 18 months, including individual skill development/enhancement, education, and support in the community, at Eau Claire Cruisers, and in team meetings.

What funding sources do you work with?

 

We currently have contracts with CLTS, and directly with county/human services. 

Who is eligible for youth mentoring services?

  • We provide mental health services to children ages 5 to 18 who live within a travel time of RWC and Eau Claire, Wisconsin.

 

  • The applicant must be competent, understand verbal prompts, and be able to communicate, not have a history of violence or have a history of inappropriate sexual behaviors towards a professional within the last three months. How long does it take to get a matched with a provider?

  • We consider every participant in our program unique and significant, so we work quickly to connect them with an AMAZING youth mentor.

Summer Skills Building

  • Summer Workshops occur Mondays through Fridays. Weekends are available 

  • This program provides a group setting of 2-5 participants in June, July, and August. Each participant works one-on-one with an individual provider. This unique experience allows each participant to work on personal goals while engaging with peers. Each week features new and different ways for the participants to work toward their goals and build new skills.

After-School Skills Building

  • After-school skills building is offered Monday through Thursday evenings from September to May. Participants in this program will work with a one-on-one provider within a group setting of 2-5 other participants. The structure of this program allows participants to enhance their social-emotional skills while building relationships with their peers. Mentors provide support and guidance throughout the process, helping participants work toward their goals.
